SMS Consent Policy
Last updated: 1/1/2026
1. How We Obtain Consent
Eventurely requires explicit prior consent before sending any SMS messages. We never send unsolicited text messages. Consent is collected through the following methods:
- Keyword Opt-In (JOIN): Users can text JOIN to our toll-free number +1234567890 to opt in to receive SMS updates from Eventurely. Upon texting JOIN, users will receive a confirmation message and their consent will be recorded.
- Web Form Opt-In: Users can visit our SMS opt-in page to provide their phone number and consent to receive SMS messages. The form requires explicit acknowledgment of our SMS terms before consent is recorded.
- Sign Up Consent: When a user provides their phone number during account creation, they must accept terms of service which includes consent to receive SMS messages. The registered user will then receive an opt-in confirmation from our authentication provider. Users can reply with "STOP" to opt out.

2. Email-First Invitation Process
Event invitations are always sent via email first. The invitation email includes information about opting in to SMS updates:
- Initial event invitations are sent exclusively via email to the invitee's email address.
- The email includes a call-to-action allowing recipients to opt in to SMS updates by texting JOIN to +1234567890.
- Only after a recipient has opted in via SMS keyword or web form will they receive SMS reminders and updates about the event.
- Event organizers can see which invitees have opted in to SMS in their dashboard.
3. How Our Consent System Works
Our SMS consent management system works as follows:
- All SMS consent records are stored securely in our database with timestamps, phone numbers, consent source (keyword, web form, or sign-up), and consent status.
- Before sending any SMS message, our system checks if the recipient has given prior explicit consent.
- No messages are sent without prior consent. If a phone number has no consent record, SMS delivery is blocked.
- Every SMS message we send includes "Reply STOP to unsubscribe" at the end of the message.
- If a user has previously opted out (by replying "STOP"), no messages will be sent to that number and any attempted messages will be marked as "UNSUBSCRIBED" in our system.
4. What Consumers Are Consenting To
By opting in, consumers acknowledge and agree to:
- Receive SMS and text messages from Eventurely regarding events, updates, & reminders.
- Message frequency varies based on event activity and notification settings.
- Standard messaging and data rates may apply per their mobile carrier's terms.
- The ability to opt out at any time by replying "STOP."
5. How We Process Responses
Our system automatically processes user responses:
- JOIN: Records consent and sends a welcome message confirming enrollment in SMS updates.
- YES: Confirms consent and sends a confirmation message.
- STOP: Immediately updates consent status to prevent further messages and sends a confirmation that they have been unsubscribed.
- HELP: Sends information about Eventurely and how to opt out.
These responses are processed through a secure webhook that updates our consent database in real-time.
6. How Users Can Withdraw Consent
Consumers can opt out of SMS communications at any time by:
- Replying with "STOP" to any message received.
- Contacting our customer support at support@eventurely.net.
- Managing communication preferences through their online account settings (if applicable).
Upon receiving an opt-out request, we promptly update our records to ensure no further messages are sent to the consumer's phone number. A confirmation message is sent acknowledging their opt-out.
7. Compliance and Updates
We comply with all applicable regulations, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CTIA Messaging Principles, and Twilio's Acceptable Use Policy. This SMS Consent Policy is subject to updates, and any significant changes will be communicated to consumers through our website or messaging service.
For any questions regarding this policy, please contact us at info@eventurely.net.
